WARSAW, Poland (AP) – Laboratory tests following a mass die-off of fish in the Oder River showed high salinity but no mercury, poisoning its waters, Poland’s environment minister said on Saturday as the mystery of what killed tons of fish in central Europe continued.
Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moskwa said analyzes of river samples taken in both Poland and Germany had revealed elevated levels of salinity. Comprehensive toxicological studies are still ongoing in Poland, she said.
