BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE EXHIBITION CELEBRATING THE WORK OF KWAME BROTH WEIGHT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC TODAY AT REYNOLDA HOUSE. TO GIVE US A BETTER ILLUSTRATION OF WHAT TO EXPECT HERE, AMBER ALBERT IS THE MANAGER OF COMMUNITY AND ACADEMIC LEARNING AT THE REYNOLDA HOUSE MUSEUM OF AMERICAN. AMBER THANK YOU FOR COMING HERE TO ME THIS MORNING ON URYO SATURDAY. OH, GOOD MORNING. THANKS VERY MUCH. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AT THIS EXHIBITION? DO TODAY IS A BIG DAY AT THE MUSEUM BECAUSE IT IS THE FIRST. DAY THE EXHIBITION IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. IT CONTAINS ORVE 40 PHOTOGRAPHS BUT ALSO SOME CLOTHING AND JEWELRY WEARING THE GANDASA MODELS IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS. SO HEAVY THIS KIND OF MULTIMEDIA. EXHIBITION AND OH AND FOR THE FIRST TIME MUSIC WILL PLAY IN THE GALLERY BRADFORD BRATHWAIT AND HIS BROTHER CO-FOUNDED THE AMERICAN JZAZ SOCIETY AND STUDIOS AND ARE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH KWAME BREATHWAITE’S SON. OUR CUROR PHIL ARCHER HAS CREATED A PLAYLIST. TO IMPROVE THE EXPERIENCE. THAT IS REALLY COOL. TELL ME MORE ABOUT BROTHWAY. WHAT CULTURAL IMPACT DOES YOUR WORK HAVE? The Black Is Beautiful: The Photography of Kwame Brathwaite exhibition opens this weekend at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. The Black is Beautiful cultural movement emerged in the United States in the 1960s. “It was a time when people around the world protested against injustices of race, class and human rights as a gift to stimulate thought, share ideas and tell stories of our struggle, our work, our liberation,” Brathwaite said in a publication of the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. You can visit the Reynolda House Museum of American Art to see Black Is Beautiful: The Photography of Kwame Brathwaite through May 8th.

Black is Beautiful: Photography by Kwame Brathwaite Exhibition opening at Reynolda House Museum of American Art this weekend.

According to a statement from the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, it is the first major exhibition to focus on the central figure of the second Harlem Renaissance. The Black is Beautiful cultural movement emerged in the United States in the 1960s.

“It was a time when people around the world protested injustices related to race, class and human rights. I was focused on perfecting my craft so I could use my gift to inspire thought, share ideas, and tell stories about our struggle, our work, our liberation,” Brathwaite said in a statement from the Reynolda House Museum of American kind
