“We are excited to welcome more than 500 judges from around the world to this year’s judging panel, all professionals in the fields of brewing, marketing, design and beyond,” said Jackie DiBella, co-founder of CBMAS. “We appreciate your voluntary assistance with the visual critique and rating of the entries. We can’t wait to see who crushed it in 2022!”

Other well-known judges who have returned or recently joined include, among others. Other well-known judges who have returned or recently joined include Ralph Steadman, David Carson, Zane Lamprey, Jon Contino, Tara Nurin, Matt Furman, Harry Schuhmacher, Megan Stone and Keith Villa, among others.

Due to the recent COVID-Omicron surge, the CBMAS is extending the submission deadline for the 2022 awards season for global craft beer-related marketing and design applications to February 14, 2022.

“While registrations are pouring in from around the world, many have asked for more time to attend due to staffing issues and COVID-related delays, and we totally understand,” said Jim McCune, co-founder of CBMAS. “Happy Valentine’s Day to beer lovers worldwide.”

The CBDAS is now entering its third season. This is the only global awards competition launched in 2019 that focuses on the growing importance of craft beer marketing and design strategy as the key to success in differentiating other brands on the market shelf. CBMAS continued its industry prominence as the leading expert on marketing trends by presenting a marketing seminar at the 2021 Craft Brewers Conference, as well as recognizing influential beer industry insiders with the People of the Year award. And to literally make its voice heard, the CBMAS has created a podcast, Marketing on Tap, sponsored by the EGC Group.

Submissions are open to anyone involved with marketing in the brewing industry around the world – including Cider, Hartselzer and Met. Breweries, their agencies, artists and marketing partners are invited to submit their work.

CBMAS 2022 features over 40 categories covering all aspects of beer marketing – from labels to logos and tap handles to taprooms. Eleven new categories have been added by popular suggestion, and this year the popular ‘Sustainability – Environmental Awareness’ and ‘Human Rights’ categories return.

The CBMAS grading process is a robust, credible and transparent digital grading system judged by an influential and respected global panel of more than 500 beer, marketing and design experts.

The presenting sponsor of the CBMAS – for the third year in a row – is Hillebrand, the world’s leading global beverage logistics company. Prabh Hans, vice president of domestic services at Hillebrand North America, headquartered in Houston, TX, has been a strong advocate from the start.

“It’s great to see how the CBMAS have grown,” said Hans. “What an amazing platform that connects brewers around the world and celebrates their creativity. We can’t wait to see who will be presented with the prestigious Crushie Award this year in recognition of their passionate work!”

Many design companies and agencies take notice and submit their work. This really underscores the CBMAS’s focus on the growing importance of creative art and design in packaging and branding as a marketing tactic for breweries to differentiate themselves in today’s ever-growing and competitive marketplace. INX, an international ink company based in Chicago, IL, returned as a sponsor this year.

“As an integral part of the metal decoration and packaging industry, INX International is excited to be part of CBMAS,” said Sarah Jacks, Manager, INX Color Perfection®. “What a fantastic way to recognize the talent that so many brands have brought to the crafting market! We can’t wait to see the stunning branding, designs and hard work that this year’s entrants bring to the competition!”

The upcoming awards ceremony will be held during the week of the 2022 Craft Brewers Conference in May in Minneapolis, MN. For more information and ongoing updates visit https://craftbeermarketingawards.com/
