New Bedford Art Museum hosts annual membership show

NEW BEDFORD – New Bedford Art Museum / ArtWorks! exhibits the annual membership exhibition until May 8th. The jury of the 2021 exhibition, Stephanie Haboush Plunkett, has selected works of art for monetary and other prizes.
Nancy Whitcomb’s Dog Eat Dog World was named Best in Show. Susan Gilmore’s Blustery was first runner-up, and Dora Atwater Millikin’s Nantucket Light Ship was runner-up. The selection was Elizabeth Stanton’s Waiting On Citrus To Ripen.
Each year, the New Bedford Art Museum invites its members to submit their artwork for the exhibition, and each year the museum eagerly awaits what its community has been up to.
This year’s members, selected by juries, include Adrian Tio, Allen Constant, Barbara McDowell, Bill Popik, Brittany Grimes, Carol Scavotto, Carole Constant, Chip Davenport, Corinna Raznikov, Danya Bichsel, Deb Smook, Denn Santoro, Dora, Atwater Millikin, Elizabeth Stanton, Emmett Barnacle, Eric Lintala, Helen Bryant, Iwona Lapczyk, JP Powel, Jane Bregoli, Jane O’Hara, Jill Law, Jim Sears, Judith Klein, Keith M. Francis, Kendra J. Conn, Kim Barry , Kristina N Occhino, Lelia Stokes, Weinstein, Lynne Byers, Marty Keating, Mary N. Hurwitz, Mia Pelletier, Milton H. Brightman, Morgan Spaulding, Nancy Whitcomb, Ray Genereux, Robert Dunn, Ron Fortier, Roy Rossow, Skip Treglia, Susan Costa, and Susan Gilmore.
About the juror
Stephanie Haboush Plunkett is Associate Director and Chief Curator of the Norman Rockwell Museum. Plunkett began her career in museum education, having previously held positions at the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, New York. Recently she has curated many exhibitions focusing on Norman Rockwell’s art and the field of illustration.
