Mystery Art Exhibit starts the month of the event


WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The Arts Council WF announced the opening of the Mystery Art Fest exhibition and online promotion!

The 250 original works of art in the exhibition can be viewed in person at the Kemp Center for the Arts or on-line through the month of October. The real secret lies in the identity of the 177 local, regional and national artists: all the names of the creators are hidden and will remain a secret until October 22, when the pieces are auctioned on the last night of the exhibition.

The Arts Council has planned a month of activities leading up to this final auction, which can be viewed in the schedule below. All events are free and public.


Thursday, October 7th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Artist reception to celebrate the participating artists and their works, with an outdoor festival theme of food, drink and art.

Thursday, October 14th from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

Open late with the Wichita Falls Poetry Society: The Poetry Society will present their special anniversary book “A Celebration of Poetry: 90 Poems for 90 Years” and offer poetry readings from the book!

Thursday, October 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The gallery is open until 8 p.m. for one last chance to see the art and place bids.

Friday, 10/22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The last night of the exhibition is an evening with art stations with music, poetry, visual arts, light snacks, drinks and much more! People are welcome to come and go through the night. There is no live auction; Online bidding for the silent auction ends at 8 p.m. The works of art can then be picked up after 8 p.m. or the following day.
